Contemporary kitchen with warm timber overhead
The brief from the client for this project was to create a minimalistic looking kitchen with clean lines for their 20 year-old lifestyle block house. We love the contrasting textures and tones of the Melteca Danish Walnut organic finish timber cabinets against the Kleenstone Sunset Benchtop and Melteca Baikal cabinets in this kitchen! FIT Nexus and Tynn LED lighting was used throughout the kitchen to give it an extra wow factor - pro-tip this is an inexpensive way to elevate your kitchen space! A thoughtfully planned bespoke space was created with our client to maximise workflow – such as bi-folding lift-up overhead cabinet doors and vertical tray dividers for organisation and space efficiency. A second hidden pantry was included to the side of the kitchen to utilise space, minimise clutter and enhance the overall design.

New build with natural timber accents
For this new build in Horotiu we love the central positioning of the key elements in the kitchen to facilitate workflow, paired with the open storage scullery combining both butler’s pantry functionality with the convenience of easily accessible storage. Melteca Chalk White cabinetry was used in the kitchen area and Bestwood Arctic White cabinetry was used in the scullery. These were paired with a Primestone Astra engineered stone benchtop. Laminam Naturali Ardesia Bianco in Spacco was used on the splashback and on the island backing to bring texture to these areas. Solid timber accents were used in the floating shelves and on the back of the island to bring extra warmth and a natural, organic element to the space. To maximise storage internal drawer systems were used, creating smaller compartments within the larger drawer. Archant Edge Straight handles in Anthracite were selected for their minimalist appearance and they also pair well with the black appliances.

New home with bar included
This new build in Cambridge included not only a stunning kitchen and scullery, but a bar too! Both the main kitchen and bar use a bold and moody Ronda style Dezignatek Series 3 Satinwood in Bolt Black for the cabinetry which gave these elements a commanding presence over the space. For a sleek and seamless look, Archant Edge Straight in Black handles were selected. Kleenstone Tide engineered stone was chosen for the benchtop and splashback and tied in well with the lighter cabinetry colour of the Ronda style Dezignatek Series 3 in white. To complement this softer style, Antique Brass handles by Fada were used marrying perfectly with the faucets. This combo was used for both the kitchen bench area and continued through to the scullery.

Both the benchtops and splashbacks are Primestone Calacatta Gold engineered stone. The cabinetry is Contemporary style Dezignatek Series 3 in Quarter Thorndon cream to mirror the style of the kitchen island. The brushed brass Shell and Knob handles were selected to highlight the brass trim of the Falcon freestanding oven. Creating more storage space in this kitchen renovation
The customer brief for this kitchen renovation in Hamilton was they were wanting more storage space as the existing pantry space wasn’t adequate, and there didn’t seem to be enough space for two people working at the same time within the kitchen.Thankfully, the existing laundry was located behind the fridge/oven wall, so we opened this wall to create a combined laundry/scullery which created this extra storage space. This also meant that we could change the kitchen shape, so we moved the cooktop to the back wall which allowed for space for these customers when working in the kitchen. The kitchen cabinetry is Dezignatek, Lana Grey colour in the Ronda style and the benchtops mitred 40mm Caesarstone Nordic Loft engineered stone. The sink and cooktop splashbacks are Laminam, Argento Fio, which bring a texture into this space.

A room with a view
With a background in hospitality, this customer had a clear vision for their new kitchen and we were thrilled to bring it to life for them. The cooktop needed to be on the island but without a hanging rangehood impeding the view. We solved the problem with the Falmec ceiling cassette rangehood built into the bulkhead for a streamlined look and a perfect view! The kitchen cabinetry is the stunning new Laminex Woodgrain Collection “Terrain” colour, and the benchtops are 20mm Dekton “Sirius”. To finish off this contemporary look we used Archant Edge Straight Black handles.

Updated and improved functionality
We love transforming our clients’ kitchens! In this recent project we helped Michele update her kitchen, not only giving it a fresh new look but also improving the functionality by moving the sink to the lounge side for more social interaction while in the kitchen. We love the elegance of the Primestone Treble Cone Engineered Stone 20mm benchtop against the Melteca 18mm Washed Timber Woodgrain Doors with vertical grain. Here’s what Michele had to say about her new kitchen: “Thank you for taking the time with me as we pulled it together, in particular helping bring it into line with what we could afford, while still retaining some special aspects/treats… thank you Total Kitchens!!”

Sleek modern kitchen renovation
Here are some “before” and “after” pictures of a new kitchen that we've recently completed in a freshly renovated home in Glenview. The kitchen cabinetry is Melteca Snowdrift in a Satin finish which is complemented with 20mm Calypso coloured Silestone engineered stone benchtop. To carry the current on-trend earthy brown tones through this kitchen, we used a Nero Oxide coloured Laminam splashback. Corners always create accessibility issues within a kitchen so we've incorporated both Blum Space Corner drawers and a Hafele LeMans II corner unit as solutions to help make these corners more functional. By eliminating the existing tall corner pantry and the tall corner crockery unit, we've created more usable floor space so not only is this kitchen more functional with a larger foot print, it looks a million dollars too!

Modern kitchen renovation with timber accents
At Total Kitchens we love doing kitchen renovations and especially love seeing the look on our customer’s faces when they first see the transformation of their new kitchen. This is one of those renovations where a lovely couple with a young family wanted to renovate their home, so modernised their new kitchen to great effect. For their kitchen makeover they chose the darker Melteca Storm coloured melamine for the base cabinetry and complemented this with Bestwood Southern Oak melamine in a Wilderness finish to introduce a timber accent. The handles are the very popular straight edge pull handles in a matt black finish (supplied by Archant), and the benchtop is ultra-trendy 30mm Super White Dolomite (supplied by AGB Stone), which helped to pull all the colours together. Check out those funky tiles which create a 3D effect. Looking at the "before" and "after" pics you'd wonder if this is the same kitchen!

From U to L
It’s amazing how changing the layout and shape of a kitchen can make it so much more functional and efficient to work in. Our team at Total Kitchens had the pleasure of carrying out this kitchen renovation in Saint Andrews and identified from the kitchen brief with the customer that she didn’t use her breakfast bar (as the dining table is adjacent to the kitchen), and wanted to open up the kitchen so it felt more spacious and had a better flow. As it was a U-shape kitchen with tall cabinetry we changed it to an L-shape with tall cabinetry along a straight run and utilised on-bench pantries at a 400mm depth so they didn’t feel so imposing when walking into the kitchen. The cabinetry is Ultraglaze Alabaster Gloss with a 30mm Prime Stone Piha engineered stone benchtop. Check out the before and after pics, what a difference!

Modern French Provincial kitchen
We had the privilege of supplying this new kitchen to a beautiful home overlooking Hamilton Lake. These customers have gone for the very popular Modern French Provincial look created with Dezignatek Series 3 Ronda profile cabinetry in Lana Grey complemented with a 30mm Prime Stone Papamoa engineered stone benchtop and Archant supplied Azara knobs in a Burnished Iron finish. Drawers have a third more storage than cupboards (and it’s a lot more accessible storage) so we’ve made sure to maximise the number of drawers in this design including a Blum corner drawer. Check out the 90cm Smeg Under Bench Oven with matching 90cm Gas Cooktop, both in the Smeg Classic Series to help complete this look. We love looking at the before and after pics to see how the space has transformed!

Multi-purpose kitchen with office
The team at Total Kitchens had the privilege of working on this stunning kitchen for a newly built executive home in the popular St Kilda subdivision in Cambridge. This kitchen was cleverly designed as a multi-purpose space with a small office seating area to the right of the breakfast bar, and tucked behind the right side wing wall is a hidden alcove that acts as a scullery with a second sink. The clients chose a cabinetry colour combination of Prime Melamine Rimu Wood finish with Melteca Fog Melamine Natural finish. Notice that the timber grain is running horizontally as opposed to the traditional vertical grain direction. This cabinetry is complemented with an earthy toned 60mm Primestone Pukekawa engineered stone benchtop in a honed (matt) finish. Above the two ovens we even included a Parmco Rear Rise downdraft rangehood that pops out of the benchtop when you want to use it!

Colonial style kitchen
Our team had the privilege of designing this new kitchen in a colonial styled home in Tamahere. The client’s brief was that they wanted their new kitchen to match the character of their older style home, wanted more storage (that had to be functional), as well as wanting two sinks to create two work zones. To fit with their brief we have supplied Dezignatek Ronda style cabinetry in Classic White Satin, and the benchtop is mitred 50mm Caesarstone Nougat. For more functional storage we maximised the number of drawers (including a Blum corner drawer) as a bank of drawer has a third more storage than a cabinet, and also added the very popular bi-folding on-bench pantries at a functional depth of 400mm. For an extra work zone, we positioned a second butlers sink into the island. This kitchen design and material selected complemented the black coloured 1100mm wide Falcon Freestanding Oven and Canopy Rangehood, making this a smart looking, highly functional kitchen which these customers absolutely love working in.

100 year old Villa kitchen reno
The team at Total Kitchens completed a new kitchen renovation in an amazing 100 year old Villa that has been renovated to keep it in its original condition. To make sure that this new kitchen matched the character of the Villa, these customers have chosen Dezignatek Series 3, Country Style patterned doors/drawers in the warm toned Feather White. This has been complemented with a 30mm Black Pearl Granite benchtop which also has gold warmer tones running through it. When it came to all of the appliances, the Smeg Classic Series with their traditional looking Cannoli knobs was a no-brainer in keeping with this classic, traditional look. These customers opted for a Smeg Wall Oven with a Smeg Combination Microwave Oven above. Comparing the before and after pictures, you wouldn’t realise that this was the same kitchen!

Kitchen extension
It’s amazing what you can achieve when doing a kitchen renovation in your existing home with thoughtful planning and great design. The problem this client faced with their previous kitchen was the pantry space, so more storage space in the redesign was a must. This couple also liked to entertain so as part of the brief they wanted a separate area to prep in as they didn’t want the mess visible but there needed to be a provision for a washing machine/doing the laundry. Fortunately, their existing kitchen backed onto the laundry so this wall was opened up and a cavity slider put in to create a separate scullery/laundry space and a door closed in that led into a bathroom. The main kitchen cabinetry is Dezignatek Lana Grey colour in the Ronda Door pattern complemented with a mitred 40mm Caesarstone Nordic Loft engineered stone benchtop and Laminam Argento Filo coloured splashback. The scullery/laundry is Prime Melamine Concreted coloured cabinetry with a 40mm Wilsonart Concrete laminate benchtop. When looking at the “before” and “after” pics, it looks like a different space!

Minimalistic and modern
The Total Kitchens team designed and installed this new kitchen in an executive home on 1.2 acres in Tamahere. The kitchen cabinetry is a combination of Ultraglaze Neve Matt acrylic complemented with Melteca Blackened Legno Pure grain finish. The benchtop is 20mm Prime Stone Corinthian with 2 x mitred waterfall legs on the island for that popular white marble look. The brief for the kitchen was to look very modern but to be minimalistic, which we achieved with fully integrated appliances, and minimalistic handles as well as being handle-less on the upper cabinets. The scullery was to have more of a preparation/cleaning focus, so included was the main fridge with a sink, dishwasher, bin drawer, and plenty of bench space for prep.We also supplied the vanities for this home which were Melteca Blackened Legno Pure grain with a 20mm Prime Stone Corinthian benchtop.

Natural Timber
This stunning new build features a warm and inviting kitchen designed by our team at Total Kitchens. Melteca cabinetry in Warm White Naturale finish was used which is complemented by Rio Matt Black handles by Archant. Plenty of storage was a must, and to give it that warm wooden feel the client chose Bestwood Southern Oak Wilderness finish for the overhead and on-bench pantry cabinetry. The benchtop is a 50mm thick Mineralstone Natural finish laminate with “new ABS Edge” by Laminex, and the splashback is a 5.5mm Laminam Kanka Black by Laminex. To complete the natural look, Schist was chosen for the island backing and it paired exceptionally with the cedar slat ceiling. We also love the hidden scullery behind the kitchen and the beautiful Bosch appliances chosen, especially the large 80cm induction cooktop!
